Vaneza Smith-Restua Banzon, born April 23, 1978, in Bulacan Philippines, passed peacefully on Thursday, March 31, 2022
in Mission Hospital Mission Viejo, CA. Vaneza is lovingly known as mommy to her husband and son, Auntie Dai to her niece and nephews and Ne' to her siblings.
Born to Lilian Smith and Victor Restua Jr (both passed), she has two siblings Cherrie Ann Restua and Victor Restua III.
Vaneza went to Rizal Elementary School, Bacolod City National High School, and University of St. LaSalle Bacolod in the Philippines where she had formed friendships that she treasured. She moved to California in 1999 with her mother and her siblings. She met the love of her life Edmund Banzon. After a short courtship, Edmund and Vaneza were married in 2009 of September and had 1 loving son…Marcus Ethan. She also had survived with a nephew name Miles Alexander from her sister Cherrie. From her husband Edmund, she has survived a mother-in-law Monina Lurenana and 3 sisters in laws with their respective husbands and kids named Edna and Jeff Llanes with 2 nephews named Reddick Jesse and Jaden, Wenny and Walter Balasan with nephew Noah Antonio and niece Sophia Nina, and Sherry and Rocky Maloloy-on.
She had lived in Orange County, CA for almost all her life after she moved to California except a short period of time when she had moved to Moreno Valley, CA. She worked for Saddleback and Mission Hospital for almost 15 years.
Vaneza's adventurous side includes camping with family and visiting Las Vegas, NV. She also loved gatherings with family and friends since her passion is to cook and sing karaoke even out of tune. She would always look for recipes to cook in YouTube as she listens to her Tagalog love songs while following. She also loved to help her nephews do their math homework as she was self-proclaimed as math expert. Come September, she would start shopping for everyone's holiday gifts as she loved holidays, gift giving and shopping. On her "me time" you would see her at the corner on her favorite couch either watching Tagalog TV show "Tulfo" or coloring on her phone app. Vaneza never passed up when it comes to card games like pusoy, tong-its and poker with family and friends. Marcus her son, I quote "Happy was something she would not be able to shake off, no matter how much of pain she went through she loved the happiness and smiles of others because it also made her smile and happy".As her sister, brother and sister in laws would sum up her life as Generous, Full and Loving.

Short Poem for Our Beloved Vaneza:
Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free.
I'm following the path God has chosen for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call;
I turned my back and left it all.
The beauty of Heaven's nightly skies,
Where His endless worlds may rise,
Is like the depths of her curious eyes,
Where beyond her soul never dies.
