IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Vera
Bogomolny
August 28, 1966 – February 7, 2024
Vera Bogomolny, born August 28, 1966 in St. Petersburg, Russia, transitioned into the next life at her home in Dana Point on February 7, 2024, surrounded by her family after a five-year battle with GI cancer. Born to Boris Bogomolny and Lina Livshits, she grew up with her younger brother Val. Vera married Dmitri Boutoussov on September 21, 1991 in St. Petersburg, and shortly thereafter moved to Vienna, Austria. In 1996, she, along with her husband and firstborn son, Danny, moved to sunny southern California, where she gave birth to her youngest sons Paul and Michael.
Her boys became hockey players, and Vera lovingly played the role of "Hockey Mom" for many years, shuttling her boys and their teammates all over the country and Canada. As the boys grew older, and Vera's domestic responsibilities became less, she found her passion in the pursuit of holistic medicine. She received her Doctorate in Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine, countless bodywork certificates, and a diploma in Cranio-Sacral Therapy at the prestigious Upledger Institute (in addition to her Masters degree in Engineering). She would regularly offer her service as a TA in classes, and participate in group sessions across the country, where she found a like minded community of healers, doctors, and friends.
Vera enjoyed walking at Dana Point Harbor, and Badlands Park with her beloved rescue dog, Charlos. She had an eye for unique art pieces, and loved to collect trinkets, ceramics, and any other memento of special experiences. She also found joy in singing karaoke, dancing at any time anywhere, and exploring new cities.
Vera's infinite generosity, fiery personality, and contagious laughter were synonymous with her warming presence. She loved her family dearly, and shared her love, support, and wisdom with her boys, nieces and nephews, cousins, and the rest of her extended family. Her lighthearted
and beautiful spirit is unmistakable, and a true gift for anyone who came into contact with her. May she dance forever in paradise.
Her service will be held at 11am at McCormick Mortuary in Laguna Woods on Sunday, February 25th, 2024, followed by a celebration of life at her home.
