IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Virginia Cana
Dalena
February 25, 1948 – November 20, 2023
Virginia Cana Dalena, born February 25, 1948 in Legazpi City, Philippines, passed away due to liver complications on Monday, November 20, 2023 surrounded by her loving family at Saddleback Memorial Hospital. She was 75 years old. Her parents are Anatolio Cana and Georgia Andes Cana. Virginia was loved dearly by her children, family and friends. Her husband is Cesar Dalena (passed). She has three children, Francis, Rommel and Aylene and is second mom to Joy. She also has three grandchildren, Koda, Aiden and Kohen. Virginia and Cesar met in the Philippines where they had their children, while Cesar was in the US Navy. In 1991, the major eruption of Mt. Pinatubo caused them to move their family to California. They lived in Long Beach and soon moved to Rancho Santa Margarita to provide better lives for their children.
Virginia was a stay at home mom that also ran her own catering business while her husband was deployed serving in the Navy. She was a hard working and loving mother and dedicated wife. Anytime friends or family came to their house she would always have Filipino food ready for them to take home. Food was her love language and she showed it often. She would often stay up late or wake up early to cook.
Later in life, her joy became her grandchildren. She loved watching them learn, play and eat her food. Often she would be at the grocery store looking for her grandchildren's favorite fruits so she can prepare fruit for them. She also loved being included in any outing with her children, no matter if it was to eat out, watch a scary movie, walk in the park or just to go out on a drive. She loved being together. She also loved going to the casino. She always had stories of people she met and how she got lucky and won some big jackpot. Although it was her family that really won the jackpot with her.
