Obituary

Владимир Шаевич Бейнарт

Vladimir was born in Riga, Latvia on 22 of April, 1952 – to Evgenia and Shaya.

After attending high school, Vlad attended Riga Polytechnical Institute (Rīgas Tehniskā universitāte) graduating in 1974 with a degree in Mechanical Engineering, specializing in Industrial Thermal Power engineering. Vladimir also completed military service during his time studying at the Institute. He went on to work for ТЭП (Thermal Electric Project company) right out of University.

On June 20, 1975 Vladimir met the love of his life while she was traveling from Ukraine with her brother Michael. It was truly love at first sight and he proposed five days later on June 25.

Vladimir and Zhanna were married on September 10, 1975.

His hobbies and interests were wide and included fencing, tennis, jazz, reading, swimming, cars and of course his biggest passion later in life (besides Zhanna) – photography.

Although he was a pretty modest person, Vlad's designs in the engineering world were well-known and applauded. Only later did his children truly know the scope of his contributions to the world of nuclear power and solar energy. Vladimir downplayed his role in the building and design of some of the biggest power plants in the world including in Ukraine, Russia, Latvia, Armenia and of course the United States.

Vladimir was an inventor and a dreamer with curious mind who cherished every moment with the love of his life of 48-years Zhanna (Жанна), his children Julia and Michael, and three grandchildren: Tyler, Nikolas and Lee as well as son-in-law Scott and daughter-in-law Tracey.

Vladimir had taken under his wing young engineers who undoubtedly will never forget his mentorship and friendship. He leaves behind a legacy of three generations who not only looked up to him but relied on his advice and wisdom. Vladimir's life was rich with friendships, traveling, a fairytale love and many adventures. He leaves behind his wife, children, grandchildren, mother and sister.
