Wilda Louise Thomas, born January 10, 1933 in Modesto CA, went to her heavenly home, Wednesday November 15, 2023 in the hospital in Mission Viejo, CA. Born to Wilfred and Elda Johnson, she had a younger sister Ruth (passed). Wilda graduated from Hanford High School in 1951 and from Seattle Pacific College with a Bachelor of Education in 1955. It was in Seattle where she met the love of her life, Gerald (Gerry) Thomas. On February 7, 1959 Gerry and Wilda eloped in Las Vegas NV and had two children Juliann & Wayne.

She was an elementary school teacher in Washington, California and Kansas, take a break to be a stay at home mom. She went back to teaching at Serrano Elementary School in the early 1990s and taught first grade until she was 75 years old.

Wilda was widowed in 2021. She is survived by her daughter Juliann (Timothy) Pester, son Wayne (Tifany) Thomas, grandchildren Gregory (Itzayana), Robert (Michaela) and Deckard and great grandchildren Mateo and Isabela. Her sister Ruth passed in 2017, but is survived by her niece and nephew Heidi and Brian and their families.

Wilda's greatest pleasure in life was the years with Gerry, followed by her children and most of all spending time and talking about her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Wilda loved spending time going on camping trips and snow skiing vacations in the Colorado Rockies with her family. She also enjoyed playing bridge, playing gold and spending time with friends and family.

Wilda was a faithful woman who loved the Lord. Graveside services will be held Thursday December 7, 2023, 1:00pm at Miramar National Cemetery, 5795 Nobel Dr, San Diego, CA 92122, where she will be interred with her husband.
