William "Bill" Eric Samuelson, born October 21, 1951, was the first child, and only son of Alice and Eric Samuelson in New York City. He is survived by his sisters, Christine and Linda. A passionate sports enthusiast from a young age, Bill achieved the esteemed title of Eagle Scout and excelled in various athletic pursuits and is a member of the York Catholic High School Sports Hall of Fame.
After graduation in 1969, Bill pursued higher education at West Virginia University. There, he left a lasting legacy as a 3-year Letterman and starting football player for the Mountaineers, ultimately serving as Captain at the 1972 Peach Bowl. Bill was a proud and esteemed member of the Delta Tau Delta Fraternity. In 1973, he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management.
Following his college years, Bill relocated to Southern California, where he met and married the love of his life, Pamela Leigh Smith, on December 18, 1982. The couple made their home in Lake Forest. where they raised their children, Carole Jean and Mark William. Bill was a dedicated husband and father and actively involved in his children's lives, coaching Mark's sports teams and sharing special musical and cultural experiences with Carole.
In retirement, Bill found joy in the simple pleasures of life, enjoying leisurely walks in the park with his dalmatians and creating culinary delights for his beloved wife. Together, Bill and Pam cultivated their shared passion for cooking, indulging in cooking classes and cherishing visits with their children. In July 2021, Bill celebrated the marriage of his son to Maggie Landry, and his heart overflowed with joy upon the arrival of his first grandchild, Presley James, in 2022. At 72 years of age, he passed in the arms of his family on December 23, 2023.
Bill's legacy is one of love, devotion, and a life well-lived, leaving an indelible impact on all who were fortunate enough to know him.
