William Harrison "Handsome Harry" Winters, 84, of Laguna Woods, California, passed away Saturday, June 6th, 2015 at his home.
Visitation will be on Friday, June 12th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm at McCormick and Sons Mortuary Chapel in Laguna Hills, with the Rosary at 7:00 pm. The funeral will be Saturday, June 13th at 9:00 am at St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Laguna Hills. The burial will be at Good Shepard Cemetery in Huntington Beach.
Harry was born August 22nd, 1930 in Newark, New Jersey to Edwin and Loretta (Malloy) Winters. He served in the United States Navy from 1947 to 1954, then earned his AA degree in engineering from Long Beach City College. On December 26th, 1959 he married the former Beatrice Laura Costigan in Long Beach, California. Harry was employed by Loral Aerospace in Newport Beach, California and worked on the Sidewinder Missile project. He retired in 1991, and enjoyed traveling, visiting with family, and going to casinos with Beatrice.
Harry is survived by his wife Beatrice Winters, his two sons Michael Winters of Rancho Santa Margarita, CA, Joseph Winters of Forrest Hills, CA, and daughter Kathleen Winters of Murrieta, CA, and his brother Joe Malloy of Warminster, PA. He was preceded in death by his two sons William Harrison "Bumper" Winters Jr in 1976 and James Edward Winters in 2006, and his sister Loretta "Queenie" Malloy – Floyd of Warminster, PA in 1989.
