IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Yvonne Chow
Shen
April 2, 1939 – June 29, 2023
Heads turn in every room she entered. Not only was she beautiful but she carried a certain elegance and stature that was simply incomparable. However, more than this, she was incredibly hardworking and proved to be a fighter. Throughout her life, she has picked up her things and moved between countries and countless cities, worked numerous jobs to support herself and her family, and even overcame cancer. She was never someone who just did the bare minimum or stepped away from a challenge. Rather, she embraced all that life had to offer and truly lived hers to the fullest. Whether it was traveling the globe or working for the Sinatras, Yvonne was the one to go to if you're feeling like immersing in an especially interesting story.
Yvonne spent her last few years in Orange County, California surrounded by family and close friends. Despite having lived an exciting life filled with ups and downs, I can confidently say that she most appreciated the comfort of simple joys found at home. She often made homemade meals for her grandkids, danced to her favorite songs, and took morning walks around her neighborhood, just to name a few of her favorite activities. She felt free to do as she pleased and was very grateful for where her life had taken her.
Above all else, Yvonne was passionate about and valued the people she loved. She had a natural warmth and vibrance to her and, because of this, her home was always the place to be for celebrations and get togethers, or even just to share stories of the day. But she was also always there to comfort while providing just the right advice. It is difficult to come across someone who is not only attentive to others' concerns but will also dedicate the thought and effort to caring for others.
I take solace in the fact that she accumulated such rich and fulfilling experiences in her life while always having family and friends by her side. Yvonne has been foundational to many lives who will always remember her generosity and devotion to those she loved.
