Lillian Gail Pilon (AKA: Diamond Lil) passed away on October 11, 2016 at the age of 79 years old in Newport Beach. Lillian is survived by her Sons, Craig and D'andra Pilon of Mission Viejo CA, Curtis Pilon of Irvine CA and 4 Grandchildren, Lauren Meixel, Jolie Pilon, Brynley Pilon and Colton Pilon. She is preceded in death by her Husband, Robert Pilon in 2007, as well as her older Sister, Dora Hardy in August 2008 and her younger brother Leslie Martin Jr in January of 2015.
Lillian was born on April 9, 1937 in Windsor, Ontario Canada to Leslie Martin Sr. and Alice Pegler Martin. Lillian was born and raised in Windsor, Ontario where she graduated from Windsor High School. Lillian was blessed to have many friends including her childhood friend of 70 years Nancy "Sas" Jacobi. It's safe to say that Lillian never met a stranger. She remained in Windsor until shortly after her marriage to Robert Pilon, were upon they moved to Detroit Michigan in 1956. There she and her husband Robert had two boys Craig and Curtis. She remained in south eastern Michigan up until the time she moved to Sunny Isles Florida in 1999. She left Florida in 2004 when she made the move west to California to be close to her two boys.
Lillian began her 33 year career at the 45-B District Court as a Court Recorder in Oak Park, Michigan. At that same time she worked nights and weekends transcribing recorded testimony into transcripts, all while raising two young boys. She concluded this illustrious career in the top job as Court Administrator.
She was extremely fond of entertaining guests in her home, going out to dinner and or happy hour. Lillian loved to travel and had seen most of the world including 26 cruises and enjoyed going to the Republican luncheons held at the Laguna Woods Village. Her true joy was spending time with her family. She loved God and prayed every single day for her family and close friends.
She was a very kind and gentle person who saw the good in everyone. Lillian was always known to live, love and laugh and always saw the glass as half full. She will be missed by her family and friends.
Visitation will begin on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at 9:30 followed by the Funeral Services at 11:00 AM at McCormick & Son Mortuary Chapel in Laguna Hills. Interment will follow at El Toro Memorial Park in Lake Forest.
